Dance camps

Create a dance and costume based on the movie “Ferdinand” at a camp on January 20th. Celebrate Valentine’s Day and perform a special dance for mom and dad on February 10 or perform an Irish jig at camp on March 17. Dance camps are for ages 4-8 and meet from 10:30 am to noon in the dance studio at the Oconomowoc community center. Cost: $ 35 / resident; $ 40 / non-resident.

Creative art

5-8 year olds can stimulate their creativity in this creative art class. Students will explore and create thematic arts and crafts projects in this hands-on course. Each week they will complete a project to take home. Creative Art meets from 9 a.m. to 9.45 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, March 24. Cost: $ 36 / resident; $ 54 / non-resident.

Early morning bootcamp

Early Morning Bootcamp accommodates busy schedules by offering a one-hour workout three days a week. Bootcamp combines strength, endurance, plyometrics and agility. Short periods of high-intensity interval training interspersed with core, flexibility and strength workouts will improve your cardiovascular health while strengthening and toning your muscles. The class meets from 5:15 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from February 26 to April 27. Cost: $ 138 / resident; $ 163 / non-resident.

Women’s self-defense

What would you do to defend yourself if you were approached alone? Learn self-defense skills in this class taught by Fourth Degree Black Belt Doug Scheerer. The class progresses through self-defense situations and methods to culminate in complete sparring. This course is suitable for all ages and abilities. It is offered to ages 12 and over. The class meets from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays from February 27 to March 27. Cost: $ 30 / resident; $ 45 / non-resident.

Lacrosse for girls

Girls in grades 3 through 8 are invited to learn to play lacrosse. Coaches and volunteers from the Oconomowoc Lacrosse Club will organize a hands-on clinic that will include skills, drills and games. The course takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10. Cost: $ 5 / district resident; $ 7.50 / out of district.

Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department
