We have been touring the german republic for the last few weeks and had four Byte.FM residency shows in Hamburg, with many wonderful guests. Thanks to all of you for coming, you are the reason we do this!

Now, we have two shows in Hamburg lined up, the first this Friday at the Große Freiheit 36, 22 h. But we are just one of four bands on Audiolith rocking the Reeperfestival, as you can see on the flyer to the left. So get audiolithed!

The second show will the melancholy conclusion of our Byte.FM residency. It will be just Jan at the guitar and be hanging out at the bar. Not beats, no sounds, just a few songs. Of course, there will be guests, Frehn Havel and Ruben Schell will also bring their guitars and perform.

On tour, I grabbed my camcorder and shot two videos, which you can enjoy on our Youtube-Channel. There’s a blurry Juri Gagarin live shot and a lovely grainy solo performance by Jan.

Our first Residency show was a blast! You, the audience were brilliant! Let’s do this today, 09.09.09 at 20.00h again! This time the stage is crowded with musicians – the fantastic Christian Harder will seed saw-bases and whacked out beats into the night, Wye Oak caresses your souls with gently weeping guitars and Uh Oh will spread hysteria. Hanseatic legend Pascal Fuhlbrügge is the scheduled DJ for the night and your guide into dawn.

So, see you there!

Our new record, “This Fighting”, is close to finish. Just a few bars of music need ideas and then the record will be mastered. You can now listen to album tracks, “This Fighting” and “You should be on my mind” on Myspace. “You should be on my mind” was the second to last number written for the record and got a much lighter mood in our second production run. Maybe I will someday post the first version, which sounds like INXS, as dear colleague PLEMO remarked. Until then, enjoy!

Doin' our thing

Yes it’s true, our beloved label celebrates its 50th release although some prick-eared trainspotters might complain that we’re late because our catalogue numbers already reached 60+ digits these days and we got to admit that one our two of them even got lost throughout the rapid journey that the last six years have been. And what a journey. From the very beginning as small DIY-imprint we’ve managed to stay with that kind of device up to this day and still developed into a flourishing home, a family for more than 20 artists, most of them touring and releasing continuously thanks to an ever growing, stalwart and demanding fan base trusting in Audiolith as a trademark for quality music beyond any musical borders.

For all those who’ve been following us as a label or specific artists as well as those who’ve heard our name dropping or seen our shirts and stickers on the street but haven’t been aware of what we do we’ve finally managed to put together a massive anniversary package that is about to answer all questions. “Audiolith – Doin’ Our Thing” contains eighteen brand new and exclusive tracks written and produced for this special compilation only, a state-of-the-art screenshot of what’s happening in the Audiolith universe at this very moment. The list of contributors is as long and varied as our artist roster and contains a musical range from ElectroPunk to straight dancefloor smashing club tunes, from Glam Wave to intimate SingerSongwriter music, swinging Electro-/SynthPop and even further that define what Audiolith is all about – no genres, no borders, but still “Doin’ Our Thing” based on high quality music. And creativity.

This is what makes Audiolith special but is unreleased, exclusive music really enough to make a compilation special? Of course not and that’s why we decided to come up with a bonus package that all of our fans might have dreamed of for ages.
