Colombian restaurant Secaucus will become a dance studio

SECAUCUS, NJ – Goodbye arepas, hello salsa lessons? The premier building on Paterson Plank Road that once housed the Colombian restaurant is slated to become a dance studio for children and adults.

The location formerly occupied by Noches de Colombia (until this fire in 2020) will become the Carolina Rosa Arts Academy, which describes itself as a “dance hall / dance studio”, and which also offers private dance lessons and in Group.

The website didn’t give an exact opening date, but it could open as early as December. Subscribe to receive local Secaucus news:

A sign on the door directs the public to their website – https: // carolinarosaartsacadem … – where the dance studio says it will offer ballet lessons for children from 3 years old, hip hop dance lessons for children from 3 years old, jazz for children 7 years old and up, lessons group tumbling and salsa for adults. They even offer kids salsa lessons on request and Mommy & Me / Daddy & Me dance sessions for kids 1.5-3 years old.

You can also rent their room for private parties. The space can accommodate up to 200 people, says the company. The same company, Carolina Rosa Arts Academy, already operates a party hall at 336 Central Avenue in Jersey City.

According to the most recent data from the 2020 US Census, Secaucus has experienced a population boom in the past 10 years, especially among young families and children. So we expect this kind of business to do well in the city and we wish them good luck.

Secaucus Noches de Colombia has been permanently closed by fire: like almost all restaurants in New Jersey, Noches de Colombia Secaucus has suffered from forced closures in the event of a pandemic. But the restaurant was able to stay open, serving take-out, and then set up a large tent outside about halfway through the pandemic. Then at 4:30 p.m. in October 2020, a three-alarm fire broke out at the back of the restaurant. The restaurant never reopened. The space has remained empty since.
