Exploring Dance, Art and Conversation with Cassandra Trenary: Finding Her Voice

Join American Ballet Theater principal dancer and multi-talented entertainer Cassandra Trenary for a performance that culminates her week as Artist-in-Residence at Chautauqua. During her week-long residency, Cassandra will explore and expand her artistic voice through an original vocabulary of movement, photography and film. The informal exhibition will include a showcase of movement, visual art, film and conversation with the artist in the beautiful Strohl Art Gallery. The Gallery Store will also be open, with new artists and handmade items for spring. This residency is presented in partnership with Works & Process at the Guggenheim.

Cassandra Trenary, originally from Georgia, began her dance training at the Lawrenceville School of Ballet. Trenary trained in the American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive Programs as a National Training Fellow and later joined the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in 2009. In 2011 she was invited to join ABT II ( now ABT Studio Company) on their European tour as an apprentice. Trenary apprenticed with the main company in April 2011 and joined the corps de ballet in November 2011. She was promoted to soloist in August 2015 and principal dancer in September 2020.
