The PH para-dance sports team wins 19 medals; receives congratulations from PH Embassy in Warsaw – Manila Newsletter

The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw greeted the 19 medals of the Philippine Para-Dance Sports Team at the 2021 Para-Dance Sports Polish Open held in Omianki, Poland.

Philippine Ambassador to Poland Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz met the national team and congratulated them on their historic stint in the competition which was held from October 9-10.

“The Philippine Embassy in Warsaw proudly joins the Philippine nation in saluting the outstanding and historic achievements of the 17-member Philippine team consisting of seven gold, four silver and eight bronze,” said Ruiz in a statement Thursday, October 14.

With the team’s recent success, Ruiz expressed confidence that the team, led by coach Genice Bong Marquez, will easily qualify for the para-dance world championship in Ulsan, South Korea in November. 2021.

The national team gold medalists are Evelyn De Asis, Julius Jun Obero, Rhea Marquez, Jhona Pena and Joey Maglasang. They won gold medals in the Women’s Single Freestyle 2, Single Conventional 2, Junior Competition, Duo Freestyle Class 2, Combi Latin Class 2, Freestyle Combi Class 2 and Duo Standard Class 2 categories.

Silver medals were won by De Asis and Shaquile Hanze Basan, Obero, Christian Apolinario, Jhistine Glyde Baguio, Pena and Filemon Baguio II in the Combi Latin Class 2, Solo Men’s Class 2, Combi Latin Class 1 and Combi Class competitions 2.

Bronze medals were won by Anne Charlaine Santos in the categories Solo Women Class 2, Solo Women Class 2 Freestyle, Duo Latin Class 2, Duo Freestyle Class 2 with her partner Christian Apolinario, Combi Latin Class 2 and Freestyle Combi Class 2 with her dance partner Jed Villaruel. ; Christian Apolinario in the class 2 men solo, Joey Maglasang in the class 2 men solo.

Łomianki is a town in West Warsaw County, located almost 27 kilometers from the Wilanow district in the city of Warsaw, where the Embassy is located.

Ruiz traveled to Łomianki on October 8 to greet and receive a courtesy visit from Filipino athletes.
